ODJB "Palestina"

I was listening to my local jazz station tonight and, on their traditionalist
program, I heard "Palestina," a 1920 recording by the Original Dixieland Jazz
Band. The piece went back and forth between sounding quite a bit like
contemporaneous klez recordings and "Darktown Strutters Ball," fascinating at
least in its sociohistorical context. The DJ, who is very knowlegeable about
early jazz, described it as a marvelous example of faux oriental exotica, but
gave no indication of the allusions to klez that were sa obvious to me. Anyone
know anything about it?
