Well, if all goes well, I'll be in NYC, a bit south of
you, it's true, but seeing the Metropolitan Klezmer
on Wednesday. Here's the ad from the group's drummer:
METROPOLITAN KLEZMER, a.k.a. The Greater Metropolitan Klezmer Band (Steve
Elson: clarinet/sax, Ismail Butera: accordion, Michael Hess: violin/kanun/ney
flute, Dave Hofstra: double bass/tuba, Eve Sicular: drums) has a couple of
upcoming public gigs in the New York area:
Wed, Feb 26 at Cornelia St Cafe, 8pm
29 Cornelia St Cafe, NYC. cover:$7 info: 212/989-9318
I'd be glad to meet any jewish-music regulars from the city, there.
Otherwise, I consider myself a member of cyberspace in good
standing. In that sense, I'm =always= in Washington Heights ;-).
But, I'll always at least =consider= appearing in real life
at any good local klez event between Toronto and the Central
Atlantic States.
