Jewish Classical Music

I want to recommend a book, "Passport to Jewish Music" by Irene Heskes. I
just bought it from Tara Press, and it is full of info and wonderfully
readable.

I am interested in classical chamber music of Jewish interest, especially
music for voice and strings (string quartet, piano trio, piano and violin, and
so on). I think the most familiar of this music is that of Salomone Rossi, a
late Renaisance composer of Mantua, whose works have enjoyed something of a
rediscovery of late. Other classical composers who wrote music of
specifically Jewish content are Offenbach (Jacque and father), Meyerbeer,
Jacques Halevy, and Charles Alkan. Has anyone played or heard any chamber
pieces by these composers? Also, who has played the Bloch string quartets?
Any comments?
