The decline happened a lot longer ago than that. If you look at the number
of enduring hits from the Chassidic Song Festivals, most of them are from
the early 1970's rather than the later years. The best ways to see this
are to watch which songs show up in printed anthologies, and which ones are
re-recorded in song collections.
