Re: Ofra Haza info

You could probably correspond with Ofra through her record company. I'm
not sure who she's with NOW, but most of her albums were produced by
Hed-Arzi in Tel Aviv. If you just address something to "Hed-Arzi, Tel
Aviv, Israel", it'll get there.

Of the albums I have personally, I have 17 different albums, some are on
cassette. I know that there are maybe 2 or 3 that I don't have. She is my
all-time favorite, I've seen her in concert here in Los Angeles once and
did have the opportunity to actually meet and talk with her at one time.
She was in town two years ago to promote her album "Kirya" which had been
nominated for a Grammy award that year. She appeared at a local National
Public Radio (NPR) station for this purpose. I was able to have my picture
taken with her! That was great. She's really a down-to-earth person.

As far as her voice? She can sing the TELEPHONE DIRECTORY and it would
sound wonderful. Next to Ofra, you would want to find recordings by
Yardena Arazi, I've got about 11 of hers. My collection of Israeli records
and tapes (and a few CD's) right now is around 170 different titles, and
there is a LOT that I don't have. There is some really good stuff over
there. A lot that's NOT, but that goes with anything.

Good luck finding Ofra's records in Stockholm, but you may want to drop a
line to Hed-Arzi. They may be able to help you out.
