Chris,
Klezmer music is traditionally wedding music. The BAR Mitzvah (for the
young man) party is a fairly new form. The BAS Mitzvah (for the young
woman) is even newer. Therefore there probably is no traditional music
other than klezmer music for these events. You can't go wrong with
Klezmer Conservatory Band or Shirim, or Flying Bulgar Klezmer Band or a
dozen others.
You are to be much praised for taking the effort to find the proper music
for this event. I went to two Bar Mitzvahs in two weeks and one DJ played
the most horrible music by any standard. When you play the klezmer music,
you will see eyes light up all over the room. They will LOVE you for it.
