Re: labor/socialist music

In response to Terri Weiner's inquiry about sources for Jewish labor songs:
There are some included in two excellent collections of Yiddish songs, both
of which should be available from the Jewish Book Center of the Workmen's
Circle, 45 E. 33rd St., NY, NY 10016 (800-922-2558, ext. 285). The older
one is _Mir Trogn a Gezang_, compiled by Eleanor Gordon Mlotek, first pub-
lished in 1972, 2nd ed. 1977, but still available as of the JBC's 1993
catalog. The newer collection, compiled by Eleanor Gordon Mlotek and
Joseph Mlotek, is called _Pearls of Yiddish Song_, and was first published
in 1988. Both have texts in Yiddish and in transliteration, English summaries
and notes, and melody lines with guitar chords.
