This seems like as valid a place to mention this as anywhere...
for Boston folk (and further), if you have not experienced the
band Hypnotic Clambake yet, they are a must see. Three of them
come from a klezmer background (members have been with both
the Shirim Klezmer Orchestra and the Klezmer Conservatory Band),
and they play a wild assortment of traditional and modern styles,
mixed in a danceable form with very humorous lyrics. TO get a
feel for them, their first album "Square Dance Messiah" is
available throughout the Boston area on Blue Button records, and
is also available elsewhere. They will be on tour this March with
a lot fo new material... for more info, call them at 617-327-5927.
Yes, they even do weddings and bar mitzvahs!
Another thing to experience might be the Elektra artist Phish in
concert and hear their very upbeat and exciting version of
Avenu Malkenu...
Just thought I'd try to expand some horizons...!
