Re: Sephardim from Holland

The earliest Jews in Holland were from Spain and Portugal.  (The oldest
synagogue there is the Portuguese Synagogue.)  The same is true in
the United States, by the way--Touro Synagogue was Sephardic and the
first Ashkenazic synagogue wasn't built until the late 1800s.
