[HANASHIR:4664] Re: HANASHIR digest 749

Adrian,

The HaNashir list has been an incredibly valuable and encouraging resource to me
over the past year and a half that I have been logged on. I started out on this
list when I first started teaching music in the Sunday school for Temple Ohav
Shalom in Alison Park, PA (Pittsburgh). With help and encouragement of this list
and the Hava NaShira experience, I am now a cantorial soloist and the newly
appointed Music Director for the temple. (Someday I may even get paid.....but
volunteer works for now.) I regularly check the list discussions in preparing
for special services, lesson plans for upcoming holidays, and preparing
entertainment for holiday parties. So ---- thanks to you, Adrian, for keeping
this going---and thanks to all of you who have contributed to my education and
growth in Jewish music.

As for what needs to be improved: I think the single most useful thing that can
be done is archiving by subject and making conversation threads available as you
have already suggested will be done. I'm sure I have not been alone in keeping
my own "archives" of Hanashir tidbits that seem useful---or worth thinking about
later in context. If you can make that available on-line----well, that'd be
great!

B'shalom,

Julie Newman
Pittsburgh, PA
