[HANASHIR:4641] Re: Rabbi Eric Yoffie's Sermon at the Biennial

Let us not forget we must empower our congregants young AND old to move with
us. We made sure to include some older members on our ritual/worship
committee and although they were not thrilled to start singing the Klepper
"Oseh Shalom" about 6 years ago, with full chorus and harmony and PIANO,
they indeed grew to love it because they were "taught" it and learned that
new music was only new for a little while. Bring them into the process
with you and go SLOWLY. They won't be able to not be touched by the
music.
Meris Ruzow - We've already started Craig's "Romemu" and more upbeat stuff
through the years and it's working! ;-)

speak out, hoping I open up communication and don't offend anyone.

is room for lots of songs, lots of artists, lots of songwriters, lots of
CONGREGANTS to share their musical inspiration. It is my sincere belief
that there is room for ALL our voices, the old and the young, the famous and
unknowns, to reach (and teach) G-d with our music. Perhaps time for Jewish
services to have "musical offerings" during services?

of my music in a town where music is our middle name (um, maybe even first
name!)and there are many talents, especially in the secular music arena.

Things Jewish usually move from the top. We also must support each other.
Craig's inclusion of various artists on a compilation album is one way.
Collaboration, co-writing songs, helping out our fellow artists and
songwriters with their projects is another way we can help each other.
Because there IS room for all the voices.
