[HANASHIR:4639] Re: Jewish Entertainment

I must also put in a word for a project that I have dedicated myself to
since 1994 -- publishing the Jewish Entertainment Resource Directory and
promoting lots of Jewish artists at a web site which maintains the most
complete Jewish concert calendar on the web. I usually stay fairly low
key, but I know that Jewish Entertainment Resources and Moment magazine
(with its ads and lists....) and Tara Publications (with its cutting
edge technology) have done much in the last few years to tell the Jewish
world at large that there are many talented artists out there ready to
share their music. More and more congregations and Jewish centers are
seeing first hand what music can do for their communities and they are
hiring Program Directors and setting up endowments to bring in arts
programming. We can make them heroes in the eyes of their communities
because we excite, bring people together, teach, touch people, etc. with
our music. We are moving in such a positive direction. It all takes
time and cannot be rushed. I think we can all sense that we are on the
edge of something incredibly exciting. Keep performing, keep singing,
keep writing, (keep sending me your "gig" dates to post on the web),
keep recording. There is such a variety of entertainment options and
the world at large needs to hear all of our voices.

Judy :)
