[HANASHIR:4636] Re: Rabbi Eric Yoffie's Sermon at the Biennial

Ok, I can't be the only person who feels this way, so I'll be brave and speak
out, hoping I open up communication and don't offend anyone.

We all live in different cities and go to different congregations. There is
room for lots of songs, lots of artists, lots of songwriters, lots of
CONGREGANTS to share their musical inspiration. It is my sincere belief that
there is room for ALL our voices, the old and the young, the famous and
unknowns, to reach (and teach) G-d with our music. Perhaps time for Jewish
services to have "musical offerings" during services?

I will mention Rabbi Ken Kanter, because he has been extremely supportive of my
music in a town where music is our middle name (um, maybe even first name!)and
there are many talents, especially in the secular music arena.

This is the key: support from the leadership. We must have their support.
Things Jewish usually move from the top. We also must support each other.
Craig's inclusion of various artists on a compilation album is one way.
Collaboration, co-writing songs, helping out our fellow artists and songwriters
with their projects is another way we can help each other. Because there IS
room for all the voices.
