The simpliest way to get 6th and 7th graders to love music is to make a camp
style songsession...make it a great atmosphere for them to sing, dance around
and be silly. I was a songleader for only 6th and 7th graders one summer and
it wsa incrediable. Then i spent the year teaching them in a classroom
setting and i found the only way that they felt they werent too cool to sing
was to give them camp songs and dont stop inbetween songs. I could get
through 18 songs in 20 minutes of music with them by not stoping and it keeps
them on their toes. Hope this helps...if you need any song ideas i can give
you a lot we use at camp.
B'shira v'shalom,
Beth Goldstein
