[HANASHIR:4487] Re: new stories

Alan,

I've been accumulating Jewish story collections for a long while. I always try
to tell a folktale when I lead our Tot Shabbat services. If I'm lucky, I can
find a story that can be woven into the parshah of the week. Here are a few of
my favorites:

Jewish Stories One Generation Tells Another, retold by Peninnah Schram
The Diamond Tree: Jewish Tales from around the World, selected and retold by
Howard Schwartz and Barbara Rush
Does God Have a Big Toe?, by Marc Gellman and Oscar de Mejo
While Standing On One Foot, by Nina Jaffe and Steve Zeitlin
Because God loves Stories, edited by Steve Zeitlin
The Feather Merchants, told by Steve Sanfield
While the Candles Burn, by Barbara Diamond Goldin
The Spotted Pony, retold by Eric A. Kimmel
Days of Awe, adapted by Eric A. Kimmel
Sidrah Stories, adapted by Steven Rosman
Rachel the Clever and other Jewish folktales, selected and retold by Josepha
Sherman
The 22 Gates to the Garden, collected and told by Steven Rosman

Good Luck!
