[HANASHIR:4427] Re: For all who asked!

Carole, thanks for the words. Despite the recent call for private responses
whenever possible my curiousity had been peaked as I had not heard this cute
little diddy for many years. So...now that we've all read it, it's open for
our critical analysis, right? It's been around awhile but does anyone know
the source or at least have a good story about it? Maybe Peter Yarrow wrote
it after attending an Aish HaTorah Discovery Weekend, or Bob Dylan penned it
on a "Did You Put On T'fillan Today?" flyer while waiting to see the
Lubavitcher Rebbe? Maybe instead of 770 Eastern Parkway it really came from
the old 838 5th Ave. office as somebody's' lost (how could that have
happened?!?) NFTY SongFest submission. Anybody know the real story, or have a
better one than these? All seriousness aside there is a true lesson in the
evolution of folk music here as I learned the first two lines (midwest
early1970's) not "...lived in Yisrael" and "drank Shapiros Ale" but rather
"lived in Palestine and drank Shapiros Wine" The rewrite is obviously done by
a Zionist heretic because we all know us fanatics still live in Palestine and
only drink Ginger Kal, never Ginger --L!!! Smile... and have a great
Shabbos. BWH
