dear Ilana,

I am a visual artist in my day life.  I make chanukiot and I use solid brass
gas fittings.  I found them in a hardware store ... I believe they are 1/2".
The best thing is to take some candles with you and make sure they fit.  I
drill holes into wood and pound the brass fittings in ... they work
beautifully.  Hope this helps.
