Chevre,
I was pleased to see such a profound discussion of my song, "Everybody's Got
a Little Music In 'Em" on this list. I'm glad that my lyrics can stir up
such wonderful d'rashot. The truth is, when I wrote the song I was looking
for a simple way to teach kids that they have easy access to God - God is in
them and everywhere. Music can be a powerful metaphor for God: it touches
our souls, makes us happy - but we can't see it - only experience it on so
many different levels.....
A funny story about that song: When I 1st wrote it several years ago, a
little boy came up to me after a concert and asked me, in all seriousness:
"Rabbi, What's a "bidagod?"
Listen to the song sometime, "Everybody's got a little bidagod in 'em...."
I think it's like a pikachu -- some kind of pokemon or something.

P.S. BEBWH - drop me a line sometime...........
