I agree with Dropkin's sentiments regarding Klepper's "Mercaz Musica
composition" sharing concept. As a composer, I've had numerous requests
for my music, which could more easily be met though the clearinghouse
concept that Jeff has suggested. (although I'm very happy to mail out
copies, as I know we all are....) I think "old ways and habits" can be
changed because I believe the majority of us want our music out there,
appreciated and played. We can't possibly be in this for the shekelim!
There are a whole lot of us out here willing to give it a shot, in my
humble opinion. - It's time for a paradigm shift in our thinking on this.
With so much incredible Jewish music these days, accesibility is so often
the key - and the barrier. Shift happens.
Let's make this work - I'm up for bagels and lox in Danny's office (perhaps
after CAJE at Hofstra??) I'll supply the cream cheese!! (or the preserves
for us singers who have to watch our mucus production.....okay, sorry, I
can hear the groans on that one......) =^)
