Hello, this is my first post since joining list after CAJE this year. I've
been working in my studio recording with Rich Glauber here in Eugene. We
each have own projects going and contribute what we can to each other's
songs. I played with my band at a Bat Mitzvah in August and the girl
wanted lots of swing music. I had some in the set list but I decided to
add one by doing a "Swinging Sh'ma". I have my own twist to it and
sing... "Sh'ma Yisroel, Ya Eloheinu, Ya Echod..." and them some English...
"We will love G-d with all of our heart, all of our soul and our might..."
and it swings...
My question is... is this a bad idea, as in, is it just too sacred a prayer
to... dance to? For me, there's a lot of joy in it. In oneness. Rob
