[HANASHIR:3955] El Adon

OK.  I have a question regarding the Song El Adon.  The phrases form an 
alphabetical acrostic:  aleph to tav.  However, when you come to the  phrase 
that should be a "samech" the work is "s'mechim" (rejoice).  this has become 
a very very hot topic at the young adult (teen/pre-teen) Shabbat morning 
service that I lead.  I've searched everywhere for an answer:  several books 
on liturgy (including Elbogen and Idelsohn) and have asked others as well.  
Yesterday someone made the observation that with Ashrei missing its "nun" and 
El Adon missing its "samech"  we have "nes" or "miracle" :>)

Any insights?
