Some other great pieces for middle school choir are: Todah (with the
countermelody - that's the fun part!) by S. Kviomandizis, The World Yet to
Come (S. Dropkin), Youth Shall See Visions (D. Friedman), of course Debbie's
Oseh Shalom in a round, the kids LOVE Bayom Hahu (Ketzev), Shir Chadash (C.
Taubman), Al Tifrosh (W. Schachet-Briskin), I'm definitely doing the new
Aseh l'cha Rav by Julie Silver, (that's sure to be a winner), the oldie but
goodie, Ivdu et Hashem by Leon Sher is a great round. Some others if
you're looking for a more traditional feel (it's always good to mix your
program) are, Od Yishama (S. Carlebach), Ana Avda (S. Silbermintz - you
should get his books !! - Tara has them), If you have good hebrew/music
readers try B'Yachad by A. Toledano; again, a Silbermintz arrangement. The
good ol' L'Ma'an Tsion (from Tara's chassidic favorites I think) is also a
fast, upbeat, great round and the kids love to get lost in it, and then
perfect their own listening/singing. Have fun!
I could go on..... and on..... and on.... there's tons of great stuff out
there.
