To everyone on our list--
Happy New Year!!!
I don't really like to do this, but I have been asked by a number of you for
the music to my song "The Lulav Shake". The self-promotion thing isn't really
me.....
This song, which is one of four written for each of the chagim, is not yet
recorded or transcribed. I do have "hand-written" music for the "Shake"
though. If you want and/or need this music, please email me privately.
The lyrics-corrected for one and all, are as follows:
The Lulav Shake words and music by Steve Dropkin
Sukkot is a harvest holiday,
The celebration lasts for seven days,
We build a Sukkah then we decorate,
A special booth in which we congregate.
Do the Lulav shake (shake, shake, shake) 3x
Do the lulav shake!
The symbols of Sukkot are quite unique,
The show God's presence the entire week,
The etrogs smell it gets into the air,
We wave the lulav everywhere.
Do the lulav shake.....
Hadas and arava on either side,
Surround the lulav that we shake with pride,
To north the south the west and to the east,
We celebrate and then we feast!
Do the lulav shake....
This is sung with a "Jamaican-style" beat and flair. The success with kids
and this song has been mind-blowing to me.
Hope this helps. Shanah Tovah to everyone.
Steve
