[HANASHIR:3701] Why Must I Wave my Etrog and Lulav?

I cannot take credit for this song, which is among the top one or two
requested by my students. This song parody for Sukkot was distributed by the
United Synagogue a couple of years ago, with the intention of getting more
people to celebrate the holiday, as well as perform the mitzvot of shaking
the lulav, taking the etrog and sitting in the sukkah.

All but the last stanza are sung to the tune of "Why Must I Be a Teenager in
Love?"by Dion and the Belmonts. The last stanza is sung to the tune of
"Hokey-Pokey". I hope the copyright police on this list forgive me, but my
diligent Net search found no mention of the original artists who wrote and/or
recorded Hokey Pokey.

I have attached the song as a Microsoft Word document, with the chords
included (please feel free to use your own chords!). If any of you have
trouble downloading it, please e-mail me privately, and I will be delighted
to copy it into e-mail format and resend it to you.

Thanks, and enjoy an "introspective" Elul!
