No, Linda. I'M here, not so far away.
While I don't hold myself up as a model for "how to use a madrich", here's
what I expect from my two wonderful madrichim:
1. To pay more attention - or at least act like it - than the students
themselves; to be present in all senses of the word;
2. To lead sections if I am doing a round or something with harmony;
3. To demonstrate and model dance steps and movements;
4. To perform or lead a song - gag songs like "Chometz Man" are OK - at
least once a semester;
5. To fetch things and send/get messages when I'm busy.
In turn, my expectation of myself is that I will involve them as much as
possible.
And - think how much easier "Shigaon" will be to teach with a helper!
Andy
P.S. Would you like to help me lead music for a "renewal" service at TBJ
this Erev Shabbat at 6:00?
