[HANASHIR:3590] An update on Sol

Dear Friends,

I'm following Ellen's suggestion and informing all of you together with 
further news about Sol Rosner's condition.  Thanks to those of you who did 
respond privately to me, continue to do that if anyone wants more info that 
I give.

This coming Thursday morning Sol will check into the hospital for surgery 
later in the day to remove a good portion of one of his lungs (he said 
maybe half).  There is also some lymph node involvement, but it isn't known 
yet what further treatment, radiation or chemo, might be needed.  When my 
father-in-law had similar surgery years ago he was in the hospital for 
around a week, so I'm sure Sol will be laid up for a bit.

My congregation had a Havdahlah service last night at the state park called 
the Dunes right on Lake Michigan.  Sol was there with us, even though he 
belongs to another temple.  We of course shared songs and stories from the 
wonderful HN weekend, and it was great to hear his voice, though quiet, 
over my shoulder during the blessings.  I know you'll continue to keep him 
in your prayers, and I'll post another note when there's more news.
