No, Rachel, you're NOT stupid, it was very hard to read.   And even though it 
was, I still enjoyed reading the different opinions and viewpoints.

As to some of the questions on what Reform "rules" are, I think you have 
shown us with your comments that you are a great example of what I believe to 
be the Reform "golden rule":  make an informed choice about your 
actions/practice/traditions/lifestyle.  You seem to be delving into some 
serious learning of traditional sources, and without that knowledge, how CAN 
one make an informed choice?  Although this line of discussion goes off our 
subject matter at hand, i.e., Jewish music! I really appreciate the snips of 
knowledge you bring to the list.
