Just back from a mini-vacation and want to thank you all for your responses 
to my L'chah Dodi question.  I wasn't surprised by the number of responses 
and the range of opinions -- that's what makes this list so great!

So you know why I was asking this question in the first place... a family at 
a reform temple (not my own) which surprised me by reading the Saturday 
morning service last Friday night at a lay-led service (!) asked me to sing 
at their daughter's Sat. morning bat mitzvah right before CAJE.  The family 
likes L'chah Dodi and thought of it as the opening song.  I wasn't sure 
whether it was "appropriate" so I turned to the best place for such info...
