To Ilana, Judah et al, With regard to the folk dance for Salaam (Od Yavo
Shalom), I believe that the dance to it was choreographed by Shmulik
Gov-Ari. The "Sheva" group version of the music appears on a dance
cassette of his which I have...Shmulik is a very well-known
choreographer in Israel, who, by the way, comes to OSRUI every year for
the Hagigah folk dance workshop in October--for those of you movers and
shakers--its an awesome arts experience of a very different sort...
We came to do the "Yo-ya" dance to Salaam in the dining hall that
night--I believe-- because Debbie came up to me trying to recall the
steps to Yo-ya(which she and I used to do together 25 years ago!!!) and
she realized it fit to the rhythm of Salaam... Laura Harari
