[HANASHIR:2817] guitar shopping

I'm glad Jeff mentioned guitar shopping.  I find that trying to buy a
guitar is incredibly difficult.  Everyone says to just compare sound and
feel - but I can't remember the difference in sound and feel between a
guitar I heard an hour ago at one store and a guitar I'm strumming right
now.  And I have no clue about bargaining on a guitar.

I have a very low end Yamaha (I paid $300 but who knows if that was a
fair price) and would like to upgrade.  Are there "Consumer Reports"
type publications to help ignorant guitar shoppers like me avoid getting
taken?
