I can really relate to this; having such a narrow vocal range myself, it is 
really frustrating when cantors sing in a key I can't sing along with; how 
rude for an accompanist to not follow your lead.  Maybe your experience can 
be a lesson for us all to respect each others' different ranges and musical 
styles.
