Um...not really so, at least not from my perspective. I am always concerned
about Israel's existence, and about her survival. A lot of people made a
fuss about the 50th b'day...how much more important it is to continue to
support Israel when some of that hype dies down.
As far as what songs to do, Adrian and I will be doing a nice medley of all
those favorite Israeli tunes, dance and singalong, that "everyone knows," as
well as, of course, my own, including the lovesong "Take Me to Israel" and
the children's "Happy Birthday Israel," which ends with Hatikvah. (Email me
privately for more info on those). And I would highly recommend Fran Avni's
albums of Israeli songs as well as her most recent World Beat, especially the
great song "Am Echad."
