Re Yiskor on Shabbat.  I understand the rabbi's reasoning in trying to reach
as many people as possible,  and we have played with the times of these
services to but always on the appropriate day - we now do it earlier  in the
morning to try to get people before they go to work.  We usually get a minyan.

I do not have a reference book here at home but I thought that there was a
prohibition against mourning on Shabbat - hence my question.

I am a liberal Jew but sometimes all this tampering with the calendar to suit
our needs gets to me - just had to get that off my chest.  I know this will
invite a lot of chat and arguement - good.
