Also, is there a particular REASON you want to replace the traditional, time-
tested prayer prescribed for this portion of the service?

I can understand it if Jews in our American society find it a hardship to
observe many laws of Judaism, but is the Siddur a hardship, or just an
inconvenience?

I am curious to hear your response!
