since sulzer wrote this sh'ma for the torah service (he certainly has
others, but this is the one with the most staying power), it's in the major
mode. during the 'revelation' section, you can do a turn into the relative
major at "v'keravtanu" for a lead into a familiar sh'ma like this (if
you're doing a turn from a minor based mode). this will allow for continual
flow into it, then you can chant the v'ahavta using trope or a trope
variation.
