the adon olam i think you are thinking of was  writtten by  a cantor
whose name i used to know when he was  in the armed forces- the cantor
thought it was military in style, which it is. the cantors name is on
the tip of my tongue,lewis binder, or buford, something similar- but i
forget. i know the guy did the high holidays in new haven about 12 years
ago at elliot gertels shul in New haven connecticut . elliot  was at
rodfei zedek in hyde park chicago last i knew, and if you want to know
the composers name i would suggest elliot.
