[HANASHIR:2273] Tu Bishvat songs

May I suggest (if not in time for this year's Tu Bishvat Sedarim, then
next
year!) the Tu Bishvat Hagadah published by the CCAR of the Reform movement
entitled "Seder Tu Bishvat - The Festival of the Trees." It is a complete
Hagadah for this wonderful ritual and contains many Tu Bishvat songs, many by
Jeff Klepper, which are wonderful for kids. Their musical notation is also
included. Included is the wonderful "Veyashvu Ish Tachat Gafno" by Klepper
and Freelander. I think a much awaited newer Hagadah (and there are many
versions out there, including one I coedited here in San Francisco) is being
prepared by Rabbi Arthur Waskow.
A fine Tu Bishvat song song written by Rabbi Jack Gabriel is available
on his
"Astonishing is God" tape called "Tu Bishvat", sung to the melody of
"Lollipop" - great words with ecological concepts accessible to kids.
Also, "Eitz Chayim Hi" in all its forms, especially David Shneyer's
version,
which became an anthem of sorts for the Tu Bishvat Seder held in the old
growth Redwood Forest in Humboldt county in northern Cal. last year led by
Rabbi Waskow.
