I currently serve as Cantorial Soloist/Youth Educator at Temple Judah in Cedar
Rapids, IA.  This is a full-time position.  I have decided to pursue further
education and am leaving my post at Temple Judah.  It is a job and a
congregation I have loved for the last three years.  The congregation is now
searching for a replacement.  I care a lot about this congregation, especially
the kids, and I only want the best for them.  I agreed to post the job on this
list as I have been very impressed with what I have seen come across the list.

TEMPLE JUDAH SEEKS A CANTORIAL SOLOIST/YOUTH EDUCATOR
We are a small, active Reform temple with 150 member families located in Cedar
Rapids, Iowa.  Our congregation is the center of Jewish life in the second
largest city in Iowa.  Temple Judah has a long and proud history in our
community, and will soon be completing a major building expansion.  Cedar
Rapids is a progressive community, combining major business enterprises and
small colleges, which assures a wide variety of cultural events and affordable
housing.  We are 25 minutes north of The University of Iowa and just 4 hours
west of Chicago.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

*serving as soloist for High Holy Days, Shabbat, and holiday services
*coordinating and conducting our Adult Volunteer Choir
*teaching music at our Religious School
*teaching Hebrew and assisting in preparation of Bar/Bat Mitzvah students
*assisting with youth programming
