The IMPORTANT part of your statement, Brian, is that if this tune is used by
many synagogues all over the country (world?) it is a unifying force.  Just
like the similar melody (whatever its source) used for the Shema.  Jews
everywhere (or at least a lot of places) singing the same melody.
