I have really benefitted from the Sim Shalom/Dona Nobis Pacem discussion.
Reading excellent arguments for both sides of the question has  helped me to
work through to a decision to teach this Sim Shalom to my new adult choir
(which is only starting to rehearse in a couple of weeks) , since it allows
even inexperienced singers to achieve lush harmonies. I decided to put it to
our rabbi and he gave it the OK.  Although very beautiful, it is by no means
my most favourite of Sim Shalom settings.    In the future we will move on
to other arrangements of  this prayer and save this one for the next
ecumenical experience.
