Regarding the Hinei Keil Yeshu'ati on Neshama Carlebach's "Soul" album
- I
believe she sings the first two lines of the Havdalah. A beautiful version of
the same melody for almost the entire 1st paragraph of the Havdalah as written
by Shlomo Carlebach appears on the 1995 tape "Echoes of Reb Shlomo Carlebach"
- a collection of Shlomo's songs sung by various artists and available from
Ruach Hamidbar Havurah in Phoenix (e-mail: Spirit (at) amug(dot)org(dot) The
version is
hauntingly sung by Michael Shapiro. One can easily complete the paragraph
(Kos yeshu'ot esah.....) and segue into Debbie Friedman's melodies for the
blessings.
Regarding a Bat Mitzvah song...consider the beautiful "A Blessing for My
Daughter" by Myrna Rabinowitz for Batei Mitzvah celebrations. It appears on
the 1990 tape by Shir Hadash (Hanna Tiferet Siegel, Myrna, and Harley
Rothstein) entitled "And You Shall Teach Your Children".
