Hi Karen, 

Ask around for a reputable voice teacher who can teach you effortless vocal
production.  It will be well worth the time and $$.  When I started singing
professionally about 25 years ago I also lost my voice.  This started me on
a path to find good vocal techniques and eventually to teach voice.
