I agree with you. I get so much e-mail that it often helps to see the original
message.
Also, in reference to the way you learn music, Karen. I think there are two
main
schools of learning here. Many do better by ear and can listen to a recording
and
get it easily. Some, like myself, really need the music to be able to grasp the
song.
Please don't take this the wrong way, but as a trained musician, I find that my
eye is much more trained than my ear. I can look at a piece of music and get it
quickly. And it may take me a dozen or more listens to remember the same tune
on
a recording. However, many I work with have incredibly trained ears to
compensate
for their lack of musical "training". I am often so jealous of those who have
these fine tuned ears. I am forever transcribing stuff so that I can learn it
more readily.
