I think it would be great for us to be able to share music as Rich suggested,
but I realize that the complications which Adrian describes (although I may
not totally understand them!) make it difficult at this point.  I know if I
had a computer that didn't play what everyone else was listening to, it would
be very frustrating and hard to participate in the list.

One ADVANTAGE to the lack of audible music in this venue, however, is this: we
all get to discuss musical subjects, and we become exposed to new ideas,
rather than just using the list as a play station.  Furthermore, we can, once
we find common interests and needs, communicate with each other outside of the
list.  Thus the list serves to bring us in touch with each other and to find
common interests, but to also expand our horizons.  Finally, for all of us who
have recorded and/or published music, we have better control over copyright
and other issues.  Most of our music is available through Tara or Soundswrite
or at the very least, by contacting us personally.   

P.S.-Why did you call your message Andy of Mayberry?
