Rachelle--
I'd be thrilled if my version is the one that could be useful to you. I was
just in Long Island this past Friday night to lead a"first time" Family
Shabbat and used "Ein Keloheinu". The Rabbi was worried because the
congregation had never done a service like this, and the Cantor, who has been
there for 30 years, was not a big proponent of the concept. The song was
DEFINITELY a hit. Before I even made it through the first chorus, they were
singing. If you want it, I can arrange to FAX it to you.
The key to pulling off a "wordy" song can be our own confidence that the kids
can get it. Challenge them. Often kids can rise above our expectations if we
instill the confidence that WE have in THEM!! Kids abilities never cease to
amaze me. If you have a good song to teach them, they'll want to learn it.
Besides, they love to " blow their parents away".
Good Luck-- Steven
