Re: High Holiday music

Since the sound of the shofar is so powerful, how about a a slow nigun in a
minor key to allow the congregation to prolong their reflections and/or
meditate rather than an overt message. The sound of a very traditional Jewish
melody can be very moving and, without words, it's much easier to catch on
with just a few repetitions. (After all, "Music speaks louder than
words..."). The Chassidim do this frequently and it is very effective.
