HN for beginners

to all HNers. I am the old lady from Missouri who wandered around camp
in a blissful state of musical wonderment. I have been gone for a while
and just came home to read all your messages, both pro and con on the
idea of mini interim HN meetings. I kind of agree with Adrian and Karen
in one way, but for people like me who were totally unaware that there
was such s thing as a song leader, let alone any new music except for a
few of Debbie's songs, HN was a revelation. I felt like Columbus
discovering a new world. I would certainly like to go to Oconomowoc
next year, but I wish that there would be more chance for non-guitar
playing novices who don't know the music to really learn the tunes.
Anyone can read the transliterations, but the tunes are so elusive
unless you are an extraordinary Mozart type. I think that there should
be specific sessions for novices. Luckily for me, I am in the same
facility where Angela Gold holds forth and I am going to try to capture
some of the tunes from her. Angela, don't panic. I usually go to
Jewish-oriented Elderhostels in the summer, but I'm afraid, Elderhostel
just lost a customer in favor of HN. Nana Lister, 209 Maplewood,
