I stand corrected. I was confusing the Shalom Aleichem and the Hallelu. I don't 
recall learning, at Hava Nashira, anything other than that the Hallelu was used 
at BJ.

Whoa - The group Regesh was the source for the new Shalom Aleichem (taught
at Hava Nashira 97) not the Psalm 150.

BTW, regarding the wonderful new version of Psalm 150, Hallelu, ONLY the
opening two measures are taken from the late Nusrat Fata Ali Khan's song
Alla-hu.  After that the melody and chords are totally different from the
original.  From what I have been able to find out, the melody was changed
by Rabbi Matalon  of New York's B'nai Jeshurun synagogue and introduced
there.  If anyone has add'l info please let us know.
