It is with great sorrow...

....that we mark the passing of the father of Jules Frankel. His father, a
Holocaust survivor, died at 87, joining Jules' mom who preceded him 10 years
earlier.

I have always considered Jules my closest friend, although we are often
separated by thousands of miles. I have known him for 30 years (!) Both of us
are alumni of Young Judaea and the incredible ruach and song traditions that
arose from that movement.

Jules, as many of you know, is a 3-time Hava Nashira attendee. He plans to
attend this year as well. He is the songleader of East Brunswick Jewish
Center, and is active in many New York/New Jersey area Jewish music and
community events. Jules is also probably one of Debbie Friedman's biggest
"groupies."

Our condolences to Jules and his wonderful family. May Hashem comfort you in
this difficult time. And may the joy of Adar serve to offset some of your
sorrow.

Beshalom,

Brian Serle
