Re: Hava Nashira Memoirs

Karen, ALL of Hava Nashira is memorable and spiritual.

For me, the first evening we have the Ma'ariv service is so beautiful. The
melodies are incredible, the harmonies coming from 50 voices...all
unrehearsed...go right to the soul. It is a great way to get to meet everyone
in such a musical way.

Another time I was overcome with emotion was during the part of the morning
service where the leader looks around the congregation to make eye contact
with members. When he/she has eye contact with you, you state the name of a
person who needs healing...Many were in tears through this, as was I...

Saturday night, after Havdalah, was another incredible bonding experience, as
the sheer spirituality and emotionality reached its crescendo and brought us
all so much closer together.

A real thrill for me was to meet the very songwriters I have adored for so
many years, Julie Silver, Jeff Klepper, Debbie Friedman et al. They are the
Shaquille O'Neals and Michael Jordans of songwriting. I was in awe the entire
weekend, but especially touched at how giving and sharing they all were.

Well, those are just a few of my favorite memories...but I am sure you will
develop your own memories there as well.

Chag sameach,

Brian
